O2 Mobile Broadband Settings

Mobile Broadband is a great way to access the Internet when out and about, or at home. You can browse, check email, chat or download small music and video files. You don’t need a BT landline and can choose from Pay-as-you-go, or a 30 day or 18 month package. Simply pick the tariff that’s right for you, plug the dongle into your laptop, then surf away! Before you buy Here's a checklist of some things you will need to consider before you buy one of our mobile broadband packages.

Pay Monthly or Pay & Go? :- If you're a regular user, you might be happier signing up to a longer contract. We offer 1GB or 3GB plus unlimited Wi-Fi on our 18 month packages, including a free dongle. Choose from 1GB or 2GB (get 3GB until 30/10/2010) plus unlimited Wi-Fi on our 30 day packages. Depending on your requirements, you can also choose a Pay Monthly package which includes a laptop.

Buy with laptop Buy without laptop:- If you only need mobile broadband access occasionally, then Pay & Go would be great for you. Get online from just £2 per day once you've bought your dongle for £19.99. Buy data access on a daily or monthly basis, giving you either 200MB plus unlimited Wi-Fi (get 500MB until 30/09/2010), or 2GB (get 3GB until 30/09/10) plus unlimited Wi-Fi.

System requirements
:- For mobile broadband to work on your laptop, you'll need to check you have the following minimum system requirements: * Windows: XP Service Pack 2 (32 bit) * Vista Service Pack 2 (32 & 64 bit) * Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit) * Processor: 500Mhz and above * System Memory: 128MB (XP) or 512MB (Vista) * Hard Disk Space: 150MB, RAM: 1GB * Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 or higher * Video: 256 colours and 800x600 resolution * Please note Windows 2000 is not supported. You will need to upgrade to one of the operating systems above to use O2 Mobile Broadband. * Mac: Mac OS X: 10.4 or higher * Hard Drive Space: 64MB * RAM: 1GB Tip: If you're unsure as to what operating system you have then you can usually find out by looking under 'Start / Control Panel / System'.

Network coverage
:- Finally, remember to check the network coverage in your area (or the area you'll be using when travelling with your dongle) to ensure you have sufficient coverage before you buy.
